On October 16, 2017, the mActive Team participated in the Inaugural Johns Hopkins Digital Health Day - a symposium that brought together innovators in health technology for a day of presentations, panel discussions, and synergies among leaders in the mobile health space. The event featured an impressive list of speakers from within Hopkins and beyond, including the patient-engagement champion e-Patient Dave, Paul Nagy from the Technology Innovation Center, and Alain Labrique from the Hopkins Global mHealth Initiative. Our very own Dr. Seth Martin - one of the mActive Team Principal Investigators - participated in a panel about Patient Engagement. A leader in mHealth innovation in cardiovascular research and clinical care, Dr. Martin discussed the challenges and promises that come with designing and implementing mHealth technologies in a clinical setting.
In addition to a series of inspirational talks, the event hosted an extensive resource pavilion, where over 25 organizations gathered to feature their work, collaborate with others, and learn about cutting-edge technologies from representatives in academia and industry. The mActive Team tabled as one of two groups representing the Ciccarone Center, where we got to discuss some of our past research, showcase a new mHealth platform, and form partnerships with individuals and organizations interested in future collaborations. The mActive Team was honored to be a part of this innovative symposium and hopes to participate again in the years to come!
